And now for the answers...

Here are the correct answers to our last post:

1. Very few people know I secretly like country and western music.

This one is Matt.

I just happened to be scanning the radio once and came across a country station and the song was just so upbeat. And this was one of those "cry in my beer" songs where the guy's girlfriend just dumped him because all he was doing was "havin' me some lovin' from the girl next door" and she found out about it and "shoved him out the door."

Then he got in his pickup truck and headed to the local "waterin' hole" and got plastered on rotgut whiskey just to show her what she was "missin' by not gettin' me" or something like that!

The lyrics are often kinda silly, but there's some good ones out there like the classic Patsy Cline and Hank Williams, Sr.

For the record, C & W is not my favorite music, but if I'm in the right mood, it can be a lot of fun. And Harvard University (which is in our area) actually has a radio station that plays C & W on Saturday mornings called Hillbilly at Harvard.

2. When I was a freshman in high school, I seriously thought about studying dance professionally. I wanted to be one of those backup dancers you see for singers like Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilar.

This is Matt again!

Even now I love watching the male backup dancers for somebody like Jennifer Lopez. There's just something incredibly sexy about seeing all those guys moving around the stage showing us through their movements what the music and lyrics look like when it rushes through their bodies. Plus, I think the "hyperness" that comes with my ADHD is given a positive spin when I see all that energy turned into something really creative and beautiful.

3. I kissed a girl one time and actually found myself getting into it! (Clarification: This was before the two of us ever met, and it was more than just a little "friendship peck"! Oh, and she initiated it. -- I don't know why I felt the need to go into all that clarification! LOL!)

Well, the technically correct answer to this is Brad. We've both kissed one girl before (Matty wrote about his one time here), but in Matty's case he initiated the kiss (grrrrr!), and in my case, the girl initiated it. The parenthetical explanation I gave above is what makes this item mine.

What happened is when I was in high school, I gave this girl a ride home. She already knew I was gay... very gay... and she kept flirting with me. When we got to her house, she leaned over and planted a HUGE kiss on me and started tonguing me!! I swear I tried to make her stop, but.... well, that tongue was a "tongue on a mission." I had no control over it.

I went with it for about 15 seconds and then pushed her off and said, "You know I'm gay, right?" She just said, "Well, you can't blame a girl for trying." I'm trying to stay polite but I was thinking, "Yes. I can, in fact, blame you!" I didn't say that because, well, I did go with it for 15 seconds.

That was my first and only time with Girl Cooties (no disrespect to girls, just the cooties that go with some of them).

4. I'm saving up some money to buy a motorcycle.

Believe it or not, this is Brad.

There was this guy in high school who got one and he took me for a ride once, and Holy Vibrations! The feeling I got between my legs on that thing! Well, the Power, the Rumble, the Vibration... you get the picture. Right then I knew I had to have one of these things some day!

I suppose riding a motorcycle might not fit my "image" since I don't look like a Harley-type. But this is not about "image." It's just about something I want.

Matty was a little shocked the first time I told him I might want one. He thought I was just kidding. When he realized I was serious he told me I had to get one with a seat belt and had to wear full-body armor! Oh, and get this, I couldn't go faster than 10 miles an hour!

Then I got "A Talk" about how to be careful, and did I know how many accidents people had, and riding on slippery roads when it snowed or rained...

Sweet thing. I know he was being protective, but I really just want something sleek, trim, and maybe a little pink. I'm back to the "image" thing again, I know.

5. I have a frequently recurring dream about being naked out in public, and sometimes this includes having sex with my sweetie in front of everybody.

This is Brad again. For the record, please note this is just a dream I have occasionally. We've had sex outdoors before but as far as I know there were no witnesses... except maybe for some birds, squirrels, and other random wildlife.

Oh, and this is a dream I have yet to reveal to my therapist. He might get a kick out of it because I've told him some humorous things before and he always tries to hid the beginnings of a grin before he clears his throat and says something like, "Well, Bradley. What do you make of that?" LOL!

6. I initially wanted to have a soul patch, but changed my mind and now have a chin patch.

This one is Matt. I grew a soul patch first and before it got thick I shaved it off. It just looked weired on my face. But I'm proud of the chin patch. It came in nice, I think.

  1. Well...I hardly got any right. Like half? Oh well. It was nice to learn new things about you two! And I have to say, Brad, you haven't really struck me as a motorcycle type. But I soooo get it. I want one too but have yet to save enough.

  2. I call foul!! My guesses were based on #3 being Matt. (That pretty girl took you to her bedroom - she was letting you THINK you were initiating.) Can we curve our scores due to the ambiguity of that question? LOL

I just knew the motorcycle question was Brad. :)

This was fun. Good luck on your finals!!

  3. Hi Guys,

I only got 2 correct, and then there was the one about the kiss that WAS difficult! :)

So, I was surprised about Matty wanting to be the back-up dancer, and Bradley wanting the motorcycle. But learning a little more about the two of you was enjoyable and entertaining. Thanks for sharing.

Try to have some fun time this weekend while you continue studying, and good luck next week!

  4. I only got 2! Can't believe it! And I just noticed that I didn't really understand the last question. And like Ann Marie I was pretty sure that the answer of question 3 was Matt! Argh!!!!!!!

Well, It is just a game. And a funny one btw. Thank you guys :)

Don't get distracted too much and keep studying. Good luck on your finals. Sure you will do great :)

    *hugs to you both*

  5. I only got the last 2 right. I have a feeling you guys pick things deliberately that you know might be unexpected. Next time I'm picking the opposite of what my first answer is lol. Enjoy your weekend even if you are studying.

  6. Only 2 right for me, too! This was fun.

I love what you said about the dancers, Matt - "showing us through their movements what the music and lyrics look like when it rushes through their bodies." That is beautiful writing.

Forget the girl cooties, Matt's got Shakespeare cooties and is writing poetry.

  7. Yay, I got 4 right!

"a little pink motorcycle" so cool Brad :)

  8. Had to laugh at the kiss! I tried that once with a dear friend and coworker who'd come out to me (before he came out to anybody else). We were on the floor of my darkened office after we'd been out drinking.

Just like you, Brad, he indulged for a bit, then eased back and said, "Um, you know this isn't going to work." I laughed and told him, "Yeah, I know. But I wanted it."

Dude was a great kisser. I was just being selfish, because at that point in my life, attractive men who were good kissers seemed as scarce as hens' teeth. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  9. LOL! Oh, Brad your timing is too funny talking about the vibrations of a bike. Thursday evening my hubby told me that sometimes after his long ride home from work he can't even feel his 'junk' because the prolonged vibrations make him go numb. ;-)

And Matt, though it's sweet that you worry about the slippery roads that's not the danger to warn him about. It's all the horrible drivers who never seem to see the bikers. I unfortunately know many people who've been in accidents while on their bikes, including my grandparents who each lost a leg, and that is almost always the excuse. That being said there is nothing like the freedom of riding. So Matt remind him constantly to be vigilant in watching out for the idiots and Brad the key words are Defensive Driving!! :-)

Hugs to you both. I hope that ya'll have a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.

  11. This was a blast! It's always fun getting to know surprising/unexpected things about people. You know how on the first day of school, teachers make you do getting-to-know-you activities? My favorite is this: Each person writes three statements about himself that are true and one that is false. He reads them to the class, in random order, and we have to guess which one is false. It's fun when people make it hard to guess by choosing unexpected facts about themselves. It's also a good illustrator that stereotypes are often false. It doesn't work online as well, because you can't see what the person looks like, but you guys try...which of the following is false?

    1. I have thrown a live grenade.
    2. I lived in the Middle East with a Muslim family when I was 25.
    3. I've been bungee jumping.
    4. I'm afraid of snakes.

If I were playing with strangers, I'd add "I'm a published author" in there!

I loved that you guys surprised me! I only guessed two correctly. BRADLEY!! My sister-in-law is a nurse and she worked in the ER for many years. She calls motorcyles donorcycles for a reason. Be careful, love! I agree with Matty--a 10 mph speed cap for you!

Matty, I approve of your alternate career choice! Do you have moves like Jagger? LOL xoxo

    6. Damn, you guys are good! Okay, here's the truth: I went through Army basic training when I was 18, so yes, I've thrown a live grenade; disassembled, reassembled, and fired an M-16; rappelled from a tall tower (so fun!); dug a foxhole; wore combat boots, etc.

I lived in Jordan for 2 months with a Muslim family. Fascinating experience!

I have never (nor will I ever) gone bungee jumping. Eeeeeee!! I'm not much of a risk taker.

And yes, Alder, I have had 3 pet snakes. They make great pets except for the having to feed them mice part. That's not so fun.

  23. 1. Hubby was born in Chicago and moved to Canada before his first birthday (with his family of course).
    2. I may not look it but until I got injured hubby & I play for our tennis club at the 4.5 (on a good day we're 5.0 players) level. We also play in 2 other leagues. Our son is a certified tennis instructor and teaching tennis during the summer helped pay for his college tuition. He plays at a higher level but is playing hockey instead right now. Also I was on the executive for the club for 13 years, 4 as president, till my guys threatened to disown me lol.
    3. Is false. If you ever see me on line early its because I woke up (light sleeper) and I check my phone to see what's going on and then go back to sleep.

    1. OMG, Mary, you totally had me fooled!! The one that was false was the one I thought had to be true! Haha. So funny. I do that exact same thing, but usually it's because my dog wakes me up really early, wanting to go outside.

As I said earlier, my husband sometimes drags me onto the court with him. Then I look over and see 10 year-old whipping the ball back and forth and I want to throw my racket on the ground and go get a latte. :-p

    3. Major tomboy here. I played baseball for 6 years (3 pitching & 3 third base) before I played tennis. The throwing a ball motion and the tennis serve motion are the same. I fixed many players serve by telling them what my first instructor told me. Of course if they "throw like a girl" lol that won't help. Of course I wish they'd change that throw like a girl thing.

    4. And Madison I know how that feels. My son was my height 5'6" by the time he was 12. We haven't been able to beat him in years. I actually hurt my elbow gain after recovering, by trying to return one of his serves ( that even some A players can't touch). The pain went up my arm to my shoulder.

    3. It was darker than I expected and it didn't have that sense of wonder that the Lord of the Rings films had. The amazing detail in those films of the costumes and the carvings and the buildings was missing here, I felt. But some of the scenes keep playing in my head, they were so vivid.

No Aragorn, but Thrain is gorgeous. An angsty, driven warrior hero... who could ask for anything more? And no, before you ask, he doesn't look short!!

Mary - I was totally feeling you as a tennis player! My answer was still wrong though, I figured you were an early riser too.

Alder - No TV? I wish I could accomplish that feat. And I've been there on the household projects that go on forever. All of my houses have been fixer-uppers. I told my husband that our next (and last) house is going to be the perfect one - already fixed up for us.

  27. My answer:
Alder is right - #3 in false. I'm a pisces - and my sign is scary accurate.

We live on a farm but don't actually do any farming. Previous owners sold the land to neighboring farmers and we don't do anything with the outbuildings. It's kind of perfect - we don't have to do any work but still get to enjoy being surrounded by beautiful, peaceful cornfields. (And our farmhouse is a total fixer-upper. We still have 1970s orange carpeting and khaki green paneling going up the stairs and in one bedroom.)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yay, I got yours and Madison's right!

Dogs, a farmhouse and your childhood sweetheart! Sounds perfect - *sigh*

I put my TV to the recycling centre last year because I hardly ever switched it on. There was rarely anything on that I wanted to watch and as a TV license costs almost £150 a year I thought I'd rather spend that money on books!
